New Amp Day

So all the time that I spend checking craigslist has finally paid off. Picked this up a few days ago. A 1966 Blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb.

Paid a little under market value because it has some noise issues, will explain more with a sound sample later. From what it looks like, it's all original except for the 3 prong cord mod done in the 80s? They guy I bought it from got it from his friend who we're assuming is the original owner. First owner was based out of the B.C interior. He gave it to the person I bought it from when he went on tour, and apparently never asked for it back, which was some time in the 80s. The current owner barely used it because he's more into metal, would rather have a dual rectifier.

The Tube Chart found glued to the left wall inside the cabinet. According to Fender the P indicates a production year of 1966 and the F indicates a production month of June. So it was produced around June 1966. Not sure about the '54'.

Serial on the chassis A1xx81. According to this, serials from A12000 to A19000 belong to 1966.

If it'd said "Fender Electric Instruments", then it'd be pre-CBS, (~1965 or earlier).

According to this, we're looking at the stock Oxfords, made in the 12th week of 1966.

As for the noise I've include a small audio sample. It appears at the beginning and around 17 sec.
